Digital Self Portrait is a two-part interactive video work that approaches self-portraiture as a real-time encounter with imagined worlds rather than a fixed image. In the first piece (Blood Moon Magic), I record myself in TouchDesigner while a Leap Motion controller tracks my hands, letting me shape and color floating orbs of light as the sound spectrum of the moment reshapes the visual surface of my own image. In the second piece (Imaginary World No.4), I appear as an energy body moving through a 3D scene built from footage of one of my hikes, accompanied by sound I composed myself. The work was developed by extracting a live silhouette from the webcam through keying, syncing visual effects to music, and mapping Leap Motion gestures to the movement and palette of the interactive elements. It treats the self-portrait less as a likeness and more as a feedback loop between body, gesture, sound, and environment, and asks what it means to portray oneself inside a generative system that is always responding back. Imaginary World No.4 was selected as an NFT work for the Lonely ROCKS exhibition during Art Basel Miami Beach 2022.
