Peo-Tapestry is a collaboration with an African-American poet, translating one of her poetry collections about what nature means to a city-dweller into a series of 3D-animated environments. Each poem becomes a thirty-second virtual world rendered in a magical-realism register, where cityscapes and natural elements grow into one another. The collection is conceived as a "tapestry," with each piece standing on its own while contributing to a larger interwoven narrative. As 3D audiovisual lead, I designed and built the virtual environments in Unreal Engine, developed characters with Metahuman and Character Creator, and animated the worlds in Blender. The project also opened questions I hope to return to in future work: how AR and natural language interaction might turn a poetry exhibition into a responsive, dialogic experience, where audiences scan the gallery space to surface animations or speak with the characters to generate personalized poetry fragments. It investigates how virtual environments can extend the act of reading poetry into something inhabited and spatial, and points toward a more conversational future for poetic media.
